FiberLite LED Engine

What's a Light Engine?

It's a device that takes light from a high-powered LED and drives it into fiber optic cable. In the process, it manipulates photons using a specially designed reflector and optics barrel that minimize losses due to refraction. It also rapidly moves heat away from the encased LED to maximize its life span. Bottom line: it makes fiber optic cable blaze.  Colors come in White, Blue, Amber, and Red.

Why Use Fiber Optics?

To light a sign, you want a bright, diffused, uniform glow. Trouble is, LEDs don't achieve this on their own. They emit highly-focused pinpoints of light that cause hotspots and uneven brightness. We use fiber optic cable to sculpt these pinpoints into a diffused glow that's perfect for lighting signs. It gives us all the advantages of LED illumination, with none of the drawbacks.

UL Listed

The entire FiberLite system has been tested and certified by Underwriters Laboratories. It's also included in the UL's Sign Components Manual. Here's the summary: FiberLite is a class 2 LED module approved for use in dry, damp or wet locations. It is not required to be enclosed or protected from the weather in an end product and it may be secured by any available means.

Signage Use

The  FiberLite system is perfect for the Sign industry. Cool, Safer, Easy to install, and less maintenance.

Power Requirements

The  FiberLite Engine will draw from 350mA to 700mA current @ 3.4 Volts DC. You need to order a Transformer for the total voltage draw. Our 3 volt 1 Amp Transformer or our LED Buckdrive 700 Driver for proper operation. A pigtail Connector is included for each Light Engine. The Fiber Optic Hold is a Saw-Tooth design so once cable is inserted it is hard to pull out !

Double Sided Engines are available by special order.

Powering DirectLite

The most common question we get is, "What's the best way to power the light engines?" Here's the detailed answer:

Same Proven Formula

DirectLite is built off the exact same light engine as FiberLite. The only difference is: there's no fiber. That's because sometimes you just need a whopping amount of light shining in one spot. Here it is.

What's It Good For?

DirectLite is designed to compliment FiberLite. Taken together, they'll light just about anything you can think of. DirectLite is especially great at making halos behind small objects, relief lighting, and creating brighter spots in logos, signs, architecture and more. It brings bright, wide-angle light to wherever you need it. And it's still just as easy to use and just as durable as our other products.
