the following LED's are not your low-level brightness Radio shuck type variety;
they are High-Brightness (mcd) Micro candela 20mA draw. They vary from 1.8 vdc
to 5 vdc and come in many colors.

What's a Led?
is a Light Emitting Diode, like an electronics diode it lets electricity flow in
only one direction. The little wire encapsulated in the epoxy center emits light
when electricity flows from the Cathode (positive lead) to the Anode (negative
lead). Photons are then released to travel to your eye which are detected by
your rods and cones and sent to your brain, no mater what size!! An LED can last
from 11 years and longer, far out lasting a standard bulb so you see why we use
them for Fiber Optics.

These LEDs are extremely bright; do NOT look directly into them.
LEDs are static sensitive, use static handling precautions. *The MCD rating is a relative number. 5MM Package with 0.1 inch lead spacing. These devices are used for general-purpose lighting and we provide detail specifications if needed. LED technology moves very fast, therefore supply and exact specifications are often limited and fast changing. We do not recommend, high volume design-in of these items. A single White or Blue LED will last from 1000 to 10,000 hours, NOT 100, 000 hours like some factories claim!!! LED, In a dark room can illuminate a full 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper for reading. Two LEDs can be used to light an entire computer keyboard.

Current limiting series resistor formula:
vIN - vLED / 30 milliamp = series current limiting resistor.
((5V - 3V) / 0.030) = 100 Ohm series resistor for a 5V supply.
((6V - 3V) / 0.030) = 100 Ohm series resistor for a 6V supply.
((9V - 3V) / 0.030) = 200 Ohm series resistor for a 9V supply.
((12V - 3V) / 0.030) = 300 Ohm series resistor for a 12V supply.
Change the mA to 0.020 if using a 20mA LED

If you are driving several LEDs, you must use a separate series resistor for each LED. Each LED must have it's own current limiting series resistor.

RGB Color LED
Our New 5mm Clear lens RGB LED flashes with a series of quick flashes; red, green, blue, red+green, green+blue, blue+red, and then all three at once. It repeats this fast cycle 2 times. Next, the red fades on, stays on for about 2 seconds, then fades out. Same with green, then blue, then red+green, green+blue, blue+red, and then all three. It does this slow fade for two entire cycles; then everything begins again. 20-25mA, the voltage drop ranges from 2.94v with all segments lit, to around 3.6 volts
